WOODMANSTERNE POST OFFICE, WOODMANSTERNE
A lovely old village photograph from my collection showing the first Woodmansterne Post Office and local stores !
Off to the left stands the former Court Haw mansion, which was demolished approx 70 years ago and replaced in the mid 1950's by the close of houses of that name.

David, Do you happen to have any images that show Court Haw? I am currently writing a book about a few girls on a postcard and one worked there and describes what it was like.

Lewis. Having lived in the 'new' post 1950's Court Haw for many years my wife would be fascinated by this !
The only image her family are aware of is Surrey History Centre's image of John Hassell's watercolour titled "Woodmanstone Court House, late Wyndham Esq" from when he visited c1824.

I am sure I came across another image of Court Haw recently which I will try and look up again.
UPDATE: My colleague Janice has found the other image which I will mail you.
The book will also be available from our stall at the Orchard outside All Saints Church on Village Day, May Fayre etc etc with most of our other publications.
