WOODMANSTERNE STREET,WOODMANSTERNE STREET, WOODMANSTERNE, c1910
View approaching from Banstead with the gates to the former Court Haw mansion house on the right.
The mansion was demolished over 60 years ago and replaced in the mid 1950's by the close of houses of that name. Only a tall flint wall survives today behind numbers 3 - 4 Court Haw.
All the immediate buildings on both sides here were demolished long ago and 45 - 47 Woodmansterne Street replaced the ones seen here during the 1960's.
Over behind the photographer's right shoulder (facing the sharp bend) stood the former village Post Office.

Banstead History
I remember Court Haw, when it was still standing, we used to dare each other when we were children to go into the open door at the rear of the property. It was in a very run down state before it was demolished in approx 1957. My grandmother used to take me to visit two very old ladies in a cottage opposite Court Haw who had a most beautiful cottage garden.
