View north towards the junction with the Reigate Road just a few years before the Memorial Hall would appear here on the RHS.
It was built after WWI in memory of those from the village who lost their lives.

Fascinating to see this very heavily laden Lower Kingswood bound omnibus !

This photo was taken by G.P. Roberts, who published many postcards of this local area in the early 1900's.
At the time of the 1911 census Gilbert Peterson Roberts was recorded as living just behind us on the RHS at Burgh Heath Post Office..

Known also as Robert's Stores, it housed the first Burgh Heath manual telephone exchange for a few years.
He died on the 2nd October 1955 in Shoreham By Sea and is buried in St Andrews Church, Kingswood.
