The Galleon Swimming Pool

Martin Parkes was very keen to let us have this photograph of The Galleon at Burgh Heath. See also picture #214.

It was taken from the top diving board in 1938 by Peter Parkes with his Box Brownie (the same camera he took to Canada with him when he did his aircrew training). Peter climbed up to the top of the diving boards to photograph his youngest brother, who can be seen waving, to the left of the fountain at the top of the photo.

The inset shows that same brother, Martin, a mere 82 years later!!
