Woodmans Cottage Park Rd Banstead
BHRG have been researching the history of Woodmans Cottage.
This photo, taken in the late 70s, shows a couple at the door of the Cottage in Park Road Banstead.
Can anyone tell us who they are or indeed anything about the history of the cottage.
We currently believe it was called Woodmans Cottage after the family who owned/rented adjacent land.

Does anyone know who lived in this cottage in 1960? I believe it was an author but dont have a name

Re Ron Mason who lived in Woodmans Cottage at least through the 60's until his death in 2001. He WAS an author. Wikipaedia has a comprehensive account of Ron Mason, his life and accomplishments.
When I knew him in 1964/5, I understood that he was a long-standing member of Surrey Cricket Club. I knew Ron and his wife, Peggy over 7 months in 1964/5. I visited again in 1979, and maintained an annual letter at Christmas time with them, almost until their deaths. Peggy's real name might have been Elizabeth, although I never ever heard that in relation to her. They had a daughter Elizabeth, a son Nicholas who was a sports journalist with the Guardian, and an other son. Response from LNW: Thank you Margaret. I have to tell you that Peggy is normally used as a short form of Margaret in the UK!
I have checked the electoral roll which shows Margaret V Mason and Ronald C Mason living at Woodmans cottage in 1970. I went back to the 1969 mentioned earlier and see that both Margaret and Elizabeth are listed, the latter being the daughter, as you say.

Thank you LNW. Peggy is also a short name for Margaret here in Australia! But never for me! I get Mag or Maggie, sometimes.
