LNW. Thanks. I have lived in Banstead since 1935, went to the Junior School and later Sutton County School. Played Cricket for Banstead and remember quit a lot about the village and its characters.
If I can help in any way please do let me know. TFC.
Reply from LNW: Thanks Tony. I run this website on behalf of the Banstead History Research Group and we are always keen to find people with local knowledge. If you joined the group (for the sum of £10 p.a,) I am sure you could contribute to our discussions/enquiries/publications. We meet ten times a year and I can assure you that you will not be the oldest member, assuming you were born in 1935! I would not be at all surprised if you already know one or two of our members.

Note from LNW: Indeed he did. His knowledge of Banstead was outstanding and he is much missed by our Group.
