It is amazing how clear the atmosphere is to allow such a view. We lived at 88, Wilmot Way - the road from which the picture was taken - and such a view was not possible then (1940's/50's). My sister and I revisited last year (2010) and were amazed at the view from the top of Wilmot Way - the shot featured being taken half way down near the junction with Lambert Road (I think!).

I was also amazed at this view of London which I could see on a recent visit to Banstead from this same spot. I had to do a double take. It was not possible to see it in the 50/60s even taking into account all the new buildings that have grown up since I moved away in 68.
