Remembrance Day poppies at Banstead War Memorial

Mike Saywer, President of the Banstead and District Royal British Legion, attends to the wreaths following the Remembrance Sunday Service which, as always, was attended by many hundreds of people.

At the bottom of the photograph are just some of the 4,500 poppies knitted or crocheted by local volunteers. The purple poppies represent the animals killed during the conflicts.
