Banstead Village

The Banstead Well from a picture dated 1823

The Old Well in Banstead shown in a drawing in 1823. Exactly 180 years later, in 2003, the well housing was completely refurbished. The well shaft is some 300 feet deep and still exists today, covered over by some hefty wooden beams.
