I remember Mr & Mrs Parker. We always went there for our meat. Mrs Parker was one who took the money! I remember standing in the shop and swirling the sawdust with my feet making patterns. Then as I left school and started to work in the hairdresser nearly opposite the butchers Mrs Parker would come and have her shampoo and set as it was then. They were nice people.

i had forgotten about Parker's Butchers. My mum always went there for meat for our family.
I can now recall the smell, sawdust and meat in there and remember the butchers getting a carcass from the fridge and sawing it up in the shop.
