Was this the local Liberal Party HQ?

Note from LNW: No, not as far as I know. Well House was the former home of Sir Daniel Lambert and his descendants. In the 1960's there was a suggestion that the house could be used for the benefit of the community but this never happened. It was also proposed that the council put a building preservation order on it, but again this did not happen. Despite opposition from Lord Tedder, retired Marshal of the Royal Air-Force who lived in Well Farm almost directly opposite the site, planning permission was granted and the house was demolished and replaced by flats, maisonettes and garages.
