Banstead Baptist Church - Holiday Bible Club

For many years Banstead Baptist Church ran 'Holiday Bible Club' for 5 days in the summer holidays for all the children of Banstead. Activities included singing, craft, Bible stories, quizzes, games etc and every afternoon was an event, including the universal favourite, 'Tramp's Tea Party' in which we dressed like ragamuffins and marched along the High Street to the recreation ground off Garratts Lane. There was also a trip to Chessington Zoo and a Treasure Hunt to find the 'Helpers', strewn around Banstead in various bizarre disguises... Great fun. Here's 1972. (Photo: Dr MK Johnson)
