Valerie says that Hitler on the bonfire was made out of Sheila’s mattress.
She also remembers a bomb hitting a house in Greenhayes and all the children were allowed to watch the bomb being defused!!
She also collected ticker-tape.
If Sheila and Valerie heard of the demolition of homes nearby, they would ride their bikes and nosey around the deserted area, and climb up the remains of the stairs.
