This photograph taken by John Clifford shows the number 88 bus standing at the terminus in the grounds of Banstead Hospital. The service only ran on Sundays to enable visitors to get to the hospital and the downs as there was no railway service on the day.

The bus service ran for over 50 years until it was discontinued on 30th December 1973.
