Queueing for the wine - or so they thought...Germany, Easter 1960 – and a group of boys from the Picquets Way school, on a week-long trip to the Rhineland, queue to enter a traditional weinkeller, to learn about the production of wine. At the end of the tour, they were each given a tipple to taste: “Afterwards, some of them played as if they were intoxicated” recalled George Ford, the leader of the school trip. “But little did they know that all they’d been given was grape juice and not the real thing!”
