Fred Hutton, Picquets Way deputy head teacher

This is Fred Hutton, one-time deputy head at Banstead County Secondary Boys School in Picquets Way. I took the photograph in October 1958, shortly before he retired. (I asked him to sign it for me because I was keen on handwriting and autographs at the time.)

I attended Picquets Way boys school from 1946 to 1950. this must be the Mr Hutton (Nickname "Baldy") who tried to teach us Maths. He was a very keen supporter of Sutton United football club in those days, If he was smiling on a Monday morning we knew they had won..

I remember that he occasionally forgot to button up his flies, but nobody in class told him!

I forget too!

Meant to add that his retirement gift was a set of woods.
