Banstead Junior School: Mrs Luckman's class, 1957In the 1950s I was a pupil at Banstead County Junior School, where Waitrose now stands. Here’s a class group photograph from July 1957. It was a large class (there are 46 of us in the photo), and our teacher was Mrs JB Luckman.
Unfortunately I can remember only a few names now: in the top row, sixth from left, is Alan Harvey (with lots of hair!); in the second row, the first boy from the left is John Edmunds and next to him is Iain Horden, with Mrs Luckman standing behind him. The last boy (at the end of the row on the right) is John Broughton.
Finally, to the third row from the top. The boy on the far right is Peter Cox, and two along from him is me, Bryan Cook.
Not many names, then, in a class numbering 46! If you can identify any others in this image, I’d love to hear from you!
NOTE FROM LNW: We have many more group photos from the school on our main website here.
