The Beacon magazine linocuts – summer 1959

Following on from picture #544 and picture #677 here are another four linocuts from Banstead County Junior School’s pupils in the top class before they moved on to secondary education. They were published in The Beacon, the school’s annual magazine which was produced by the children under the gentle guidance of their teacher, Mr Jones.

These linocuts are from the 1959 edition. Clockwise from the top left, they are by David Shipway, Michael Moore, Rosemary Curtis, and Stella Sutton.

• How did the children create their linocuts? There’s a practical guide here. (https://tinyurl.com/s2tnzyz4)
