Motor Cycle picnic for the Phillips family

The Phillips family (of 22 Croydon Lane) set off for a picnic in Edgar Phillips' motor cycle with side car (make uncertain), circa 1926. Photographer: Edgar Phillips.

My brother tells me that our Dad went to Birmingham to collect the motorcycle from the factory
and on the way home, the engine stalled because "they" had not filled it up with oil (?fuel).

Noel remembers sitting on our Mum's knee in the sidecar.

Note from LNW: The PE registration mark relates to Preston, and confirms the Birmingham connection. The configuration of numbers and letters confirm the plate was issued to this vehicle sometime between 1903 and the mid 1930's. Further research suggests that this is a 1920s Triumph.

Comments:
I believe the motor cycle is a Triumph P made in 1925 or a Triumph SD made in 1923.
