Comments:
This is a great picture of the Well. I have a black and white, rather dull picture of the well, taken sometime between Sept/Oct 64 and April/May65.

I visited friends, Peggy and Ron Mason, several times over those months, when I was nursing at Tadworth Court, the country branch of Great Ormond Street Children's Hospital. Sadly I didn't stop off or explore Banstead while I was there. Peggy and Ron lived in Woodman's Cottage, Park Road. They were very dear, warm friendly people, vitally interested in all people, and it was wonderful to be able to visit them when I had afternoons off duty.

I understand Ron used to give literature adult education classes in the Banstead area at that time.

After returning home to Australia in Oct '65, I kept in touch with them until their deaths. Very special memories. May I suggest that the Masons be included in your list of prominent Banstead people? I was prompted to look up Banstead, while reading "Letters From Alice", a novel about almoners (social workers)in London in the 1920s). One of the characters spent some time in the Banstead Asylum.

Thank you. Margaret Davis.
