Banstead Village

Banstead Junior School - Class 1, 1954/55

Following on from Christopher Bailey’s two posts (picture #639 and picture #640) from 1953, here’s a group photograph of Banstead Junior School’s Class 1 in 1954/55.

Like Christopher, I remember Mr Jones (pictured here), Mr Cutchee and Mr Fenton; also Mrs Luckman, who terrified me. I remember Christopher, too – he was always dressed neatly and his long socks were adorned with Cub or Scout ‘tabs’, whereas I was the scruffy one on free school dinners!
